This patient suffered a whiplash injury during a car accident. She also had resulting constant neck pain (cervical myalgia) and dizziness (benign positional vertigo). These conditions were causing her difficulties at work, sleep disturbances and a dramatic reduction in her recreational activities. I performed a thorough orthopedic/neurological examination, tested her cervical range of motion and posture and took X-rays. I diagnosed the problem, explained it to the patient and customized a treatment plan for her. This patient was tired of being on pain medications for her chronic headaches. She suffered from chronic cervical strain with headaches, complicated by her abnormal posture. X-rays revealed that she had lost her normal curvature of her neck which was the underlying cause of her severe headaches.
